Sorry I haven’t had a chance to catch up with you all recently, We’ve been missing our friends and been in a bit of a slump to be honest. The herd and I decided that we need to get going again and keep moving forward and think positively towards the future and getting out of lockdown – plenty to look forward to we decided.
I met Guinness for a chat today. He is much taller than me and has white feathers and a black mane and tail. So really he is, an upside down looking pint of Guinness. Although he is much bigger than pint sized.
Guinness has been used for our taller more independent riders, beginners on the lead rein and just about everyone else in between. He tells me he is a Jack of all trades and willing to turn his hooves to anything. I said barrel racing was a bit beyond us though, but he said he could beat me me in a race. Guiness tried to convince me his grandad was a racehorse. It I can’t see it myself and he looks mostly cob to me.
Guiness is relatively new to Diamond compared to the rest of the herd, him and I actually came together from the same place. Although he has only been with us for 18 months, Guiness has already had the chance to compete at the RDA Regional and Nationals in dressage and countryside challenge in 2019. I know that has to be an achievement, all us Diamond horses dream of getting to compete with our lovely riders at places like the RDA National Championships at Hartpury College.
Guiness told me it was about time too as his waistline was starting to notice being out of work. I told him not to worry as I never had a waistline even when we were in work and I reckon we will all be on diets the minute we are back to it!
Hope to see you all soon.
Lots of love
Dougal
ps. Angela went to visit Splash in her new home at the petting farm that an old friend of Diamond has. She reports that she is very happy and is suddenly the tallest in the field as her new friends are all Shetlands!
