Hi everyone. Dougal here.
Gucci emailed me the other day and told me he graced you with his presence via a video and that him and Alfie had a race. Don’t worry I still believe in the written word so I am going to keep my updates in this form.
As requested from one of our followers (Matthew) we had a chat with Scoop today. Unfortunately Scoop was in the field over the road so I decided to facetime him. Scoop has really been enthusiastic about his fitness regime (would you believe) and has lost nearly 50kg. I asked Scoop how he did it and he told me he had taken up running 
. I am obviously not designed to run, I would be better suited to golf I think.
Scoop asked me to say hello to everyone that used to ride and lead him before lockdown- he sure is missing them all. Scoop is described by the instructors as a ‘rock at the block’. This means he is good at standing really still while people get on him at the mounting block. Scoop explained that as he is expert at pretending to be a statue, he looks after most of our riders that use wheels to get around.
I told him that’s nothing special as I’m in training to pull a carriage and that means I can look after multiple people on wheels at one time. It takes an extra special pony to be able to carriage drive. Daisy is one of those and we are lucky to have her as part of the team.
I am hoping I might even get a job interview with Father Christmas while I’m furloughed. Cleo is helping me with my CV, she told me she was used as a stand-in reindeer once but got the sack after 20 minutes for not having enough Christmas spirit.
Talking of Christmas spirit did everyone see the Just Giving link for our winter hay appeal that Alfie posted on the Facebook page? You can buy just 1 bale or 100. Every donation counts. Someone like Boris eats nearly 2 bales a DAY in the winter when the grass is not very lush. That’s a lot of hay!! We appreciate this year has been challenging for everyone and we are grateful for your ongoing support.
