In December we had a visit from David Taylor, who worked for an architectural practice back in the early 1970’s and was the Project Architect responsible for designing the centre and overseeing the building works. David got to know Keith Webb, the founder of the centre extremely well. Keith could be a hard taskmaster, but it was through Keith’s vision and passion for riding for disabled that the centre was established. It was the first time David had been back to the centre since it opened, and he spent the morning recounting fascinating tales about the early history of Diamond. David had a collection of photographs taken during the planning and construction of the centre. The photographs he passed on are excellent and certainly pictures we have not seen before – they will surely jog a few memories.
