Back to Riding

Plans are evolving for limited disabled riding, primarily for our more capable riders who can manage with minimal support. It is a complex undertaking and with 350 disabled riders it does mean that not all riders can be accommodated. However, we are planning some activities which do not involve riding and there will be a chance to visit the centre and meet the horses. Numbers will be strictly limited because of the COVID-19 measures so please be patient while we contact people and make arrangements.

We will need limited numbers of volunteers to support the riding, and we will be contacting existing volunteers and there will be updates on Facebook and on the website to keep everyone informed.

COVID-19 Funding Appeal

The response to the Funding Appeal we launched in March has been fantastic and to date the appeal has raised £30,252 through Just Giving, cheques and donations. We are extremely grateful to everyone who donated – it is appreciated and really has helped to make up our shortfall in income.

Volunteer Riding

To generate some income, we have been offering riding lessons for our volunteers. These lessons started in June, off-site at our Croydon Lane fields and have proved a great way to keep the horses in training and in condition. The lessons have proved to be popular despite having to limit numbers due to social distancing – thank you to all the volunteers who have taken part so far. Now that Diamond is open again lessons are taking place for existing volunteers, at the centre in both the outdoor and indoor schools.
