Sadly, Ros Ray passed away on Tuesday 28th January.

Ros first came to Diamond in 1987, initially as a rider but more recently she was  as a very enthusiastic and much-loved member of the Diamond Carriage Driving Group

Ros served as a Trustee until 2012 and could always be relied on for her sound judgment and wise words.  She was warm, witty and loved life.  She engaged with everyone she met and was always interested in hearing about their lives, although she didn’t take fools lightly!

She was passionate about animals, flora and fauna.  She would stop the carriage at her favourite trees and take stock in the sheer beauty of being outside and the wonderful world that we live in.

Even after she stopped driving, the Driving Group kept in touch, taking one of the ponies to visit her in her nursing home – something she delighted in.

Ros was a great fan of the Royal Family and met Princess Anne on several occasions as seen here at our 30th Anniversary in 2004.

She was a well-loved member of Diamond, who will be fondly remembered and missed by us all.
