The unique benefits, which can be achieved from helping others are immeasurable and we have volunteering opportunities in lots of different forms for all ages, abilities & enthusiasm levels!
‘I get so much satisfaction from seeing the riders enjoy themselves and seeing them glad to see their helpers. We become friends and miss them when they leave’
The Diamond Centre’s success hinges on its excellent team of volunteer coaches and helpers – without them we could not operate.
Many of our volunteers start with no previous experience of horses or the disabled and come from all walks of life. Some help at The Diamond Centre for a couple of hours each week, some for a couple of days and some are always on the yard!
We offer a junior volunteer program for people 13 and over, they work alternate Saturdays on a rota basis after they have completed the basic training.
We hold the Sport England Volunteer Investment Programme Award – an award for excellence in training, organising, and retaining volunteers – as well as The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.
So whether you already like horses, want to learn the skills to lead our horses or you want to stay as far away from the horses as possible we can still use any help you can give
If you would like to become a volunteer at The Diamond please email on admin@diamondcentre.org.uk. We will then ask you come in for a visit and some training.
