Our Horses
Our horses are the stars of Diamond, from the little ponies to the big boys (and girls!) they each bring their own characters and talents to the Diamond Team.
Our horses and ponies are very much loved and well cared for and many of them have been here for many years.
Benji
Sponsor: Chartham Park Golf Club
Benji (or Sweet Ben Two) is a 14.2hh blue roan gelding. This beautiful member of the herd arrived in July 2021. He has lots of admirers, which we think he really enjoys, especially when they give him a scratch.
Benji was purchased in 2021 with a donation from the Chartham Park Golf Club.
Bobby

Bobby has settled in extremely well to Diamond and is already a volunteer favourite! He’s an absolute gentleman and loves a cuddle!
Daisy
Sponsor: Wednesday Volunteers
Daisy is a 13.2hh Piebald mare with two bright blue eyes. The staff refer to her as the baby of the yard even though she is very mature for her age. Daisy is loved by many riders at Diamond and has taken everything in her stride since she joined the centre back in 2015. She is currently our only driving pony.
Delilah

Delilah is a very strong Trekpaard mare who joined Diamond in 2008. She has a lovely temperament and is often found lying down in her stable between lessons. Delilah is a valuable member of the team and is loved by all the staff. Delilah was purchased in 2008 with a donation from Wooden Spoon Society.
Dougal

Dougal is a 13.2hh piebald gelding. He loves to smile and pull funny faces! He really is a cheeky chap. He loves being scratched. He also loves being around humans rather than his furry friends. He can be very stubborn but is loveable at the same time.
Ebony

Ebony has recently joined Diamond and is turning out to be an absolute sweetheart, already a firm favourite and well loved by everyone! Make sure you say hello next time you’re down, she’s very friendly!
Eclipse

Eclipse (or Check me out!) is a 15.2hh piebald mare. She has a lovely nature and is eager to please even though she is still young. She is very sociable and has many friends. She loves field time and can get a little rushy getting there!
Fudge

Fudge is a 13.2hh skewbald mare, who joined Diamond back in 2004. Fudge has a very laid-back temperament and due to this excels in her job. We think she would be able to lead herself if you let her.
Gucci

Gucci is a 15.2hh skewbald gelding. He is a gentle giant. He often puts smiles on staff and volunteers faces and due to this is extremely popular on the yard. Gucci was purchased in 2017 with a donation from Reigate Hill Golf Club.
Guiness

Guiness is a 16hh black cob gelding. He is really friendly quiet chap. He loves to have lots of cuddles. He came from a trekking Centre. He loves to jump and do dressage. He looks like he is wearing stockings as he has four white legs!
Jack

Jack, or “Captain Jack” is a 13.1hh New Forest gelding. He is a very excitable pony with a lovely temperament and is great for our riders on lead rein. Jack may be little but is often found bossing around the other “Naughty Boys”. Jack was purchased in 2010 with a donation from The Captain & Members of Purley Downs Golf Club.
Kiki

Kiki is a 13.2hh blue roan mare. She is a very pretty girl with a lovely nature. She has lots of friends, being popular with all the riders, Volunteers and staff.
Lizzie

Lizzie is a new joiner to Diamond and is 13.2hh. She is a 13 year old connemara, who is a pro at her job! She’s hit the ground running, and is already in all lessons! She’s an absoloute sweetheart, and loves attention.
Marty

Marty is a 14hh Irish Pony. He is relatively new to Diamond but his gentle nature is bound to make him a favourite with riders and volunteers alike. Born in 2014 with model good looks and a very sensible attitude we hope he will be happy with us.

Pea is a skewbald 15.2hh Irish sports horse. She is an older lady, but is fit and forward going. She likes to have a nap in between her lessons, but still loves to jump. Her show name is Drumbally Lady!

Phil is a skewbald Irish Cob standing tall at 16hh! He’s a gentle giant who loves his new home at Diamond. Quickly becoming a firm favourite with volunteers and riders alike!

Sadie

Sadie came to Diamond in October 2019. Sadie is a 14.1hh Tricoloured Mare, born in 2014. Sadie is very inquisitive and loves her human friends (and the pony girl gang!). Since joining joining us, Sadie has really grown up, and is a firm favourite in both disabled and non-disabled lessons.
Soloman

Soloman is a 17hh black gelding. This handsome chap, was a showjumper in his previous life. He arrived in July 2021 and we hope he will become a new member of the Diamond Dressage Team. He was purchased with a grant from Sport England’s Toyota Parasport fund in 2021.
Tank

Tank or “Tonevane Tanker” is a 15hh skewbald gelding. Tank arrived in July 2021 and is already loved by everyone for his kind and very gentle nature. He was purchased with a grant from Bally Thomas fund in 2021.
Teddy

Teddy is a 13hh chestnut gelding. He loves people and is in training to be one of our Hippotherapy ponies. He has come from a pony club home so has lots of experience with children and has settled into the job well. He thinks the Pat a Pony sessions can’t possibly be work as they are so fun.

Theo is bay Welsh Cross standing at 14.3hh. He has a lovely temperament and love munching grass in the field! A new favourite for us at the yard at Diamond!
Thomas

Thomas (Chelsea Lad) is a 15hh piebald gelding. He is one of our dressage stars, who often competes in our RDA Regionals and Nationals each year. He is popular throughout the yard, with both the younger and the more experienced riders. He can often be found having a kip between lessons.
